"Birthplace
of Speed"
Ormond Beach is also known as the “Birthplace of
Speed,” due to the automotive beach races on the wide,
smooth sand, which began here in the early 1900s. Each Thanksgiving
weekend, an annual show celebrates this legacy with an Antique
Car Show and Parade and a gaslight parade.
Close
to everything!
Ormond by the Sea is not only a delightful seaside haven,
but it is in close proximity to virtually everything in
Central Florida. It offers the best of all vacations; ocean
front living and an unlimited variety of activities. John
D. Rockefeller was so impressed by this area that he made
it a winter home for his family. Tours of his home are one
of the area’s highlights.
Daytona with its world famous beach and speedway are only
10 minutes away. Ormond by the Sea is conveniently
close to everything Daytona has to offer yet offers the
luxury of semi-private beaches and quiet relaxation.
Orlando is only 60 miles away with all the world renowned
attractions of Disney world, Sea World, MGM, Universal Studios,
and a myriad of unlimited entertainment, restaurants and
shopping.
St. Augustine, the oldest city in the U.S., is a charming
destination of history, art, restaurants and shopping. Quaint
cobblestone streets and well preserved historical buildings
take you far back in time. Nearby Outlet Malls offer the
best of what’s now.
Tomoka State Park is the perfect place to enjoy the variety
of wildlife, birds and plants this region offers. This is
where you can walk for miles on secluded beaches.
There are many excellent golf courses, deep sea fishing,
pier fishing, water skiing, scuba diving, wind sailing,
jet skiing, parasailing and go carts. Nearby Adventure Land
Water Park is a popular destination along with 4 hour casino
cruises from Ponce Inlet.
Whether you golf, boat, fish, play tennis, come
for the races or biking events, Ormond by the Sea is where
you want to be.

famous "Loop"
 |
It's like no other ride
It's freedom, sunshine,
open road and graceful curves.
It's called the Loop

motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere, it's a riders
dream. If you have never taken the Loop, we recommend it
highly! This leisurely ride will give you a feel for
Florida's
natural beauty. Check out Ormond Park and the Fairchild
Oak tree - one of Florida's oldest living Oaks. Bring
your camera, maybe a boxed lunch, and enjoy.
The Loop
is approximately 22 miles long and a must for riders
who enjoy an open road and Florida's natural beauty. |
The
famous "Ponce Inlet Lighthouse"
 |
Located at the southern-most tip
of the Daytona Beach area is Ponce Inlet, a scenic
fishing village with a very "Old Florida" charm.
Here you'll find some of the area's best seafood restaurants
and the 100-year old Ponce Inlet Lighthouse,
which offers visitors a chance to climb to the top
for a
spectacular view of the area.
Take a quick ride on
Beach Street and its overhanging trees.
The lighthouse
at night is spectacular. |
Around
Ormond Beach
The community of Ormond Beach is separated by the Halifax
River on the west, and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on
the east. This location, in addition to many pristine lakes,
forests and streams, makes it an ideal location for a myriad
of outdoor activities. White sand beaches for sunning and
relaxation, water and jet skiing, surfing, scuba diving,
fishing, windsurfing, tennis and golf. You name it and Ormond
Beach has it.
 Tomoka
State Park
The scenic Tomoka State Park is located just three miles

boating. It’s also the site of a Timucuan Indian
settlement discovered in 1605 by Spanish explorers
and has numerous
walking and biking paths. Nearby, the Bulow Creek
State Park preserves one of the largest remaining
stands of
Southern
Live Oak Forests along the East Coast of Florida.
